Privacy policy
Last updated: 4 November 2026
This page explains, in plain English, what personal data laugro.com collects, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it and the rights you have. It also lists the cookies we use.
The short version
- If you request a free initial review, we use the details you give us to review your farm and get back to you.
- We only use Google Analytics if you click Accept on the cookie banner. If you click Decline, nothing is sent to Google Analytics.
- We do not sell your data.
- You can ask us to see or delete your data at any time.
1. Who we are
laugro.com is run by [CONFIRM: your name or company name, company number and registered address] (“LAUGRO”, “we”, “us”). We are the data controller for the personal data described here.
For anything about your data, email us at [CONFIRM: [email protected]].
2. What we collect
When you request an initial review
If you fill in the form on our farm assessment page, we receive:
- your name and email address, and your phone number if you choose to give it;
- your country;
- details about your farm: the farm type, the approximate number of animals, your current energy use if you choose to give it, and anything you write in the message;
- a record that you ticked the consent box;
- any campaign tags in the link you followed to our site (for example
utm_source=newsletter), so we know which advert or link brought you.
Please do not include sensitive personal information in the message box. We do not need it.
Analytics, only if you accept cookies
If you click Accept, Google Analytics records how the site is used: the pages you visit, the buttons you tap (for example “Check if it suits my farm”), that a review request was sent and the farm type chosen (but not your name, contact details or any other answers), your device and browser type, your approximate location (city or country) and the campaign tags of the link you arrived from. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. If you click Decline, Google Analytics is not loaded at all.
Hosting
Our website is hosted by Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site against attacks, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type. We do not use this to identify you. [CONFIRM: you have not turned on Cloudflare Web Analytics]
Fonts
Our pages use fonts from Google Fonts. To show them, your browser loads the fonts from Google’s servers, which means Google receives your IP address when a page opens. [CONFIRM: keep this, or we self host the fonts and remove this section]
3. Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To review your farm and respond to your assessment request, including contacting you by email or phone about it. Legal basis: your consent, given by ticking the box on the form (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR and the UK GDPR), and taking steps at your request before any agreement with us (Article 6(1)(b)).
- To understand how people use the site, improve it and see which adverts work. Legal basis: your consent, given by clicking Accept on the cookie banner (Article 6(1)(a)).
- To host the site and keep it secure. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a safe, working website (Article 6(1)(f)).
We do not sell your data, we do not add you to a mailing list because you asked for an assessment, and we do not use your data to make automated decisions that affect you legally or in a similar way.
4. Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers who process data for us:
- Formspree [CONFIRM: Formspree, Inc., United States] receives and stores assessment requests; we read them in our Formspree account.
- Google [CONFIRM: Google Ireland Limited for the EU and UK, with Google LLC in the United States] provides Google Analytics (only with your consent) and Google Fonts.
- Cloudflare, Inc. hosts the website.
- If your assessment needs input from an equipment supplier, installer or funding adviser, we will ask you before we share your details with them. [CONFIRM: this matches how you will work with partners]
Some of these providers are based in the United States. Where your data leaves the UK or the European Economic Area, it is protected by the EU and UK Standard Contractual Clauses and, where the provider is certified, the EU and US Data Privacy Framework and its UK Extension. [CONFIRM: each provider’s current safeguards]
5. How long we keep it
- Assessment requests: for as long as we are discussing your farm with you, and then for no more than [CONFIRM: 24 months], unless you become a customer or ask us to delete it sooner.
- Google Analytics data: [CONFIRM: 2 or 14 months, as set in Google Analytics, Admin, Data retention]. The Google Analytics cookies themselves last up to 2 years (see the cookie policy below).
- Your cookie choice: kept in your browser until you change it or clear your browser data.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR (in the EU) and the UK GDPR (in the UK), you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy;
- have it corrected if it is wrong;
- have it deleted;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- receive it in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time. For analytics, use the Cookie settings button below or the link in the footer of every page. For an assessment request, email us. Withdrawing consent does not affect what we did before.
To use any of these rights, email [CONFIRM: [email protected]]. We will reply within one month.
You can also complain to a data protection authority: in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk); in the EU, the authority in the country where you live. [CONFIRM: the lead authority, if you are established in an EU country]
7. Children
Our services are meant for farm businesses and are not intended for anyone under [CONFIRM: 18]. We do not knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has sent us their details, email us and we will delete them.
8. Cookie policy
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We only set Google Analytics cookies if you click Accept.
| Cookie | Set by | What it does | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics | Tells visits from the same browser apart, so we can count visitors. | 2 years |
_ga_PJX60WMGQY | Google Analytics | Keeps track of your current visit (session). | 2 years |
We also keep one small item in your browser’s storage (not a cookie, but similar). It stays on your device and is not sent to Google:
| Item | What it does | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
laugro_consent, laugro_consent_at | Remembers whether you clicked Accept or Decline, and when, so the banner does not keep asking. | Until you change it or clear your browser data |
You can change your choice at any time:
You can also delete cookies in your browser settings.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your data, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant and we have your email, we will tell you.
10. Contact
